Cole Peters joined A New Energy in 2025 after having worked as a legal intern while in law school. Cole supports the team on regulatory, legislative, and policy matters affecting utilities and new energy development in Oklahoma. He works on contested matters before the Oklahoma Corporation Commission and is particularly drawn to regulatory questions at the intersection of energy development and environmental stewardship.

Cole earned his Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 2025, where he served as a member of the Oklahoma City University Law Review and Class Secretary of the Student Bar Association for three years. While in law school, Cole’s writing requirement analyzed the complex relationship between cryptocurrency development and renewable energy resources, reflecting his early interest in innovative load growth. Cole received his B.A. in Advertising from the University of Oklahoma’s Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication, where he developed a foundation in copywriting that continues to inform his legal work.

Cole is an avid outdoorsman and lifelong Oklahoman. His time in the field bowhunting and fishing has fostered a deep appreciation for the state’s public lands and natural resources. He is committed to supporting policies that promote sustainable growth while respecting the landscapes that define Oklahoma.
