About 
the firm

A New Energy, LLC is a full-service legal, regulatory, and policy consulting firm helping clients navigate the intricacies of law, policy, and the regulatory scheme in Oklahoma, the SPP region, and beyond.

ANE was founded in 2009 by Jim Roth, Director at Phillips Murrah in Oklahoma City and the Dean of Oklahoma City University School of Law. The team also includes Eric Davis and Lindsey Pever. Together, the three also formed the Oklahoma Solar Association to advance the state’s bourgeoning solar industry through education and advocacy.

Representing many renewable energy development and technology clients, A New Energy also supports regulated entities in the industries of electricity, natural gas, telecommunications, oil and gas, and others.

With experience in wind, solar, energy storage, and the many related intricacies, the team is often tapped by government leaders, nonprofits, and community groups to share their knowledge.

Meet the Team

Jim Roth

President and Founder

Jim is an attorney with decades of experience and accolades in administrative, public utility, clean energy, environmental, oil and gas, and telecommunications law. Jim is a sought-after expert on energy and environmental issues, frequently writing and lecturing on the topics. His skilled policy analysis and keen insights into industry trends ensure his clients have an excellent advocate to help achieve their goals. In addition to being the Founder and President of A New Energy, Jim is also a Director for the OKC-based business law firm Phillips Murrah. A former Corporation Commissioner and County Commissioner, Jim has a heart for public service, and currently serves as the Dean of Oklahoma City University School of Law. Jim is the Past President of Oklahoma Solar Association, on the Advisory Board for The Institute for Energy Law, a division of The Center for American and International Law, a Board Member to The American Clean Skies Foundation (a DC-based clean energy effort), a Board Member for Global Innovation Platform (“GIP”), and a Board Member for TexCom, a Texas publicly-traded environmental services company. He is very active in the community serving in an appointed position on the Oklahoma City Economic Development Trust, as well as on the board of directors for the Oklahoma Humane Society. Jim, his husband Phillip, and their beloved Goldens, split their time between Oklahoma City and Grand Lake.

C. Eric Davis

Attorney

Eric is an attorney whose practice focuses primarily in the fields of renewable energy and administrative law. Eric works for Phillips Murrah where he serves on the Clean Energy Practice Group and the Government Relations and Compliance Practice Group. Prior to private practice, he worked for state agencies including the Attorney General’s Office, the Corporation Commission, and the Tax Commission. He also worked for Legal Aid, and clerked for the state trial courts of Vermont. Eric serves as Secretary/Treasurer of the Oklahoma Solar Association and is a graduate of Leadership Oklahoma City’s LOYAL program. Eric lives in Oklahoma City with his wife Nadine and their children.

Lindsey Pever

Attorney

Lindsey is an attorney whose practice involves assisting mostly renewable energy clients navigate legal, regulatory, and public policy issues. Lindsey’s prior experience in government relations and lobbying, political campaign management, and development, provide her unique perspectives which benefit her clients. With a passion for helping others, she also assists with certain family law matters and is statutorily qualified to serve as a Guardian ad litem. She is President of the Oklahoma Solar Association, a graduate of both Leadership Oklahoma City Signature and LOYAL Programs, a sustaining member of the Junior League of Oklahoma City, serves on the Alumni Board for OCU Law School, and volunteers for homeless initiatives in OKC. Lindsey lives in Oklahoma City with her husband and children.
