Peter Wright

Attorney

Peter’s first summer “job” as a kid was building bicycles at his dad’s bike shop. His first real job was as a newspaper reporter

Peter Wright joined A New Energy in 2022 after having first worked as an intern. Peter is also an associate at Phillips Murrah. His practice primarily focuses on regulatory and contractual issues affecting companies in Oklahoma, particularly in the field of new energy development and modernization. Among other things, he works with the ANE team and clients to successfully meet state and local requirements as they get their projects across the finish line. He is drawn to issues that raise challenging questions and benefit from critical and creative thinking.

A graduate of Oklahoma City University School of Law, Peter received the 2022 Judge Alfred P. Murrah Sr. Award for Outstanding Academic Performance, which is awarded to a single graduating OCU Law student each year by the school’s faculty. He also received awards from the OCU Law Review, including the 2022 Editor-in-Chief Award and the 2021 Outstanding Law Review Comment Award, and seven CALI Awards for top performance in a class.

Before he was a lawyer, Peter worked as a newspaper reporter and in government communications. He attended Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he majored in history. In his free time, he enjoys traveling and previously spent a summer studying in St. Petersburg, Russia. He is also a cyclist, a hobby he picked up growing up around his dad’s bicycle shop. Born and raised in Oklahoma City, Peter still lives there and loves being able to use his practice to help encourage growth and innovation in his home state.
